Introducing SCANGRAPH

SCANGRAPH (Scanning and Graphics Workstation) is a system for students, faculty and staff to do image and OCR scanning and image editing. It features two powerful software applications, Paint Shop Pro 5.0 Graphics Software and TextBridge Pro 98 OCR (Optical Character Recognition) Software. These applications will enable you to work with images and text to enhance your work considerably. Let's say for example that you have taken a photograph that you would like to include in a report. By using Paint Shop Pro 5.0 you will be able to scan the photograph and bring up the image of it in one of numerous graphical file formats for your use (or further editing if you wish). In another example you have a paper document that you want edit. Instead of retyping the document you can use TextBridge Pro 98 to quickly transfer the words on the page to your computer, in an editable form.

SCANGRAPH is located in the library basement, inside the computer lab office. Any student, faculty or staff member may schedule time to use SCANGRAPH.
