Computer Lab Accounts for
Non-UMPI or
Non-Academic users.
UMPI Computer Lab Accounts for Non-UMPI Users
Computer Services' computer lab authentication system requires that non-UMPI users (not a currently enrolled student, staff, faculty or UMPI-sponsored workshop attendee) apply for a computer account to use a lab computer.
- Intended use must be related to the applicant's ongoing formal or informal education. Applications are only accepted if the educational purpose is clearly described. Accounts will be reviewed each semester to verify that the user continues to meet this criteria.
- Holders of University of Maine at Presque Isle computer lab accounts are charged $75 per semester (for this purpose, summer is treated as a single semester). Proceeds from this fee will be placed in the Student Technology Fee budget for computer lab expenses.
- Holders of University of Maine at Presque Isle computer lab accounts will be responsible for following computer lab policies and procedures. A signed Computer Facilities Acceptable Use Policy and Agreement form must accompany initial payment for the lab account.
- If the University finds it necessary to terminate any or all computer lab accounts, determination of refund will be made in accordance with Administrative Practice Letter 35.

Approved as campus policy, 4/9/97. Edited to reflect Tech Fee increase 6/6/98.
Computer Lab Accounts for Non-Academic Users
Campus computer labs require users to supply a userid and password before applications and programs can be accessed. Students, faculty and staff are automatically assigned userids when they join the university. Other persons attending workshops or conferences on campus (non-credit bearing), who need to use lab computers, must be assigned temporary computer lab accounts. If you are the coordinator of a non-academic event that requires access to lab computers, you may request temporary lab accounts for your attendees. Retrieve and complete this form and return it to the Computer Lab Coordinator at least 2 weeks prior to your event.
