Computer Services is charged with providing immediate service to all user requests that fall under the categories of maintenance, repair or basic service.
Therefore, Computer Services will queue for priority service all requests
that:
1) If not acted upon will result in disruption of an academic
course, administrative operation or scheduled event that relies
upon computer technology and to which Computer Services previously
committed support.
OR
2) Is a request to provide/maintain basic computer functionality
for a specific staff or faculty member. Basic functionality is
limited to the following list and is dependent upon the user having
access to equipment adequate to perform these tasks.
- Word-processing
- Electronic Mail
- Electronic Mail Discussion Lists
- Printing
- Access to CAPS services & World Wide Web
- Data Backup
- Computer equipment relocation
These services may be requested for the DOS, Windows or Macintosh
operating system given that the user has access to equipment adequate
to run them.
All other requests are considered requests for plus
service. Requests should be forwarded to the users department head,
coordinator or supervisor using the TSR (Technology Services Request) Form.
